What to Expect at an Adult Braces Consultation

1: First, you can schedule your free braces consultation with Premier Orthodontics.

2. Upon arrival at your consultation, you will be greeted by one of our treatment coordinators.
Premier Orthodontics’ Treatment Coordinators are fully prepared to make everything go smoothly, from the first appointment and throughout the entire treatment.
Your treatment coordinator will be with you for the entire first visit.
At the consultation, your treatment coordinator will review your information, health history, insurance information, and/or any concerns regarding your teeth and smile.
3: The orthodontist will conduct a “Smile Analysis”.
The Smile Analysis is a thorough orthodontic exam, including teeth, mouth, jaws, and face. Safe digital X-rays are taken of the teeth and surrounding bone and of the jaw structures.
Your orthodontist will present his or her “report of findings,”…
…this will be a brief presentation in plain English (not medical jargon) of the full state of your teeth.
The orthodontist will explain any present problems and the best method for correction.
If treatment is needed, your orthodontist will offer recommendations and options. This will be an individualized, personalized plan of treatment.
After this report of findings, you will know:
- What teeth or jaw misalignment or other problems exist
- What the health ramifications are of not going through treatment
- What the appearance ramifications are of not going through with treatment
- What type of braces will work best for your treatment
- How long your treatment will take
- What the complete treatment program will consist of (number of appointments, and average time of each office visit)
4: We will answer all of your questions and concerns.
There are no dumb or embarrassing questions. Of the countless patients who have visited our office for a consultation, every one of them had questions!
We do not want you just nodding, then later wondering, “what did he mean by that?” or saying “I wish I’d asked about …”
This is not one of those “I’m the doctor—trust me—just do what I say because I said so” offices.
Most questions will have been answered by the orthodontist’s report of findings, but we know it’s a lot to take in…
…so, any and all questions you have should be asked and answered at your consultation.
Our goal is not just a healthy, attractive smile but also your anxiety-free comfort from start to finish.
5: We explain the costs of treatment and discuss payment arrangements.
All financing options for braces will be discussed and your treatment coordinator will work with you to find a payment plan for braces that you can comfortably afford.
You will be given the option to choose both the down payment and monthly payment that best fits your budget.
If you are ready to begin treatment, you will have the option of starting treatment that same day or scheduling a return appointment to begin your treatment.
In total, you should allow about thirty minutes for the orthodontic consultation, and an additional 45 minutes if you choose to start treatment the same day.
